FMC CEO RELEASES STATEMENT ON RUSSIAN INVASION OF UKRAINE

Washington, DC — Today, U.S. Association of Former Members of Congress (FMC) CEO, Peter Weichlein released the following statement on behalf of FMC, regarding Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

“FMC and our entire membership are keeping the people of Ukraine in our prayers tonight as they confront Russia’s senseless violence for simply being a democracy.

“Since its independence over 30 years ago, our members have been steadfast in their support for Ukraine by enacting legislation to combat Russian aggression while in Congress, serving as election observers during the Orange Revolution in 2004, and much more.

“We implore our allies and other countries around the world to stand together and send a clear message to Putin that he cannot invade a sovereign nation; there must be consequences for the current suffering of the Ukrainian people.”
